Ask this before you pay

Hi, I found you on the state's TEFA list. What is your full tuition for my child's grade for 2026-27, what fees are charged on top, and how many hours a day does a teacher work with students live?

Paying tuition through Odyssey

Tuition isn't bought in the marketplace. The setting you choose in Odyssey (homeschool or private school) decides your child's award amount, so ask Odyssey support before you change it.

  1. Apply and enroll with the school directly. Picking a school in Odyssey doesn't enroll your child.
  2. Select the school in Odyssey. The school confirms the enrollment and enters its tuition and fees.
  3. In Odyssey, tap Confirm Tuition on your dashboard and check the amount. If it's wrong, tap Deny and the school can fix it.
  4. Confirming doesn't send funds. Once your child is funded, you send tuition payments to the school from Odyssey.

Check before you pay

Tuition at a participating private school is the main thing TEFA pays for. For 2026-27 the private-school amount is $10,474 per student, or up to $30,000 for a student with a qualifying IEP. The homeschool amount is $2,000.

  • Pay through Odyssey, not the vendor directly. TEFA funds are spent inside the Odyssey marketplace. If you pay a vendor yourself, TEFA can't pay you back.
  • You can't pay yourself or a relative. The rules bar paying a parent or a close relative as the vendor, even if they teach.
  • Orders can't be cancelled. Odyssey has a no-cancellation policy for products and services. Get your answers before you order.
